Samuel shines

An all-round display by leg-spinner Samuel (58 and four for 38) was the highlight of the 87-run victory of YSCA over Mumbai CC in an exhibition match.

The scores: YSCA 187 in 38 overs (R.D. Ashwin Kumar 45, Samuel 58, Mohik four for 42, Sandeep four for 38) bt Mumbai CC 100 in 39.2 overs (Sandeep 51, Samuel four for 39).

JK Tyre races

The final rounds of the JK Tyre Junior Cup will be held at Irungattukottai Race Track on Saturday and Sunday. Each round (Round 3 on Saturday and Round 4 on Sunday) will consist of three races on single-seater 800cc Formula cars.

At the end of the first two rounds, Chennai youngster Gokul Krishna of Team Wallace Sports leads the championship with 66 points, followed by Team Rams Racing’s K. Prashanth on 46. In third place is B. Paragjyoti from Guwahati.

Basketball team

The following will represent Tamil Nadu in the National basketball championship to be held at Surat (Gujarat) from December 31 to January 7.
