CHENNAI: Results of the Tamil Nadu Polytechnic Examinations, held in October 2008, were withdrawn in view of major errors in their publication. The results were published on December 19.

Students who logged on to the website of the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), were surprised to find that they had failed in subjects that they were hoping to pass with high marks. Following complaints from various correspondents of polytechnic colleges across the State, the results were withdrawn.

DoTE Additional Director Elwin Chandramani said the results were being verified and a corrected version was likely to be published by December 30.
