New traffic arrangement

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: A new traffic arrangement to reduce congestion on the stretch of EVR Salai from Taylors Road junction to Flowers Road junction would come into effect on January 3. The new regulation would be in force between 5.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.

A press release from the traffic police said under the proposed arrangement Barnaby Road would be made one way during the two hours, with entry for vehicles only from EVR Salai.

Vehicles coming on Balfour Road and taking the Manickeswari Road will not be allowed to use Barnaby Road to reach EVR Salai. Such vehicles should instead take Ormes Road, Ponniamman Koil junction, turn right towards Flowers Road to reach their destination. Vehicles from Raja Rathinam Street bound for EVR Salai should take Manickaeswari Road, Ormes Road, Flowers Road to reach EVR Salai.
