Taxi drivers arrested

NEW DELHI: Three taxi drivers who allegedly damaged a vehicle near the Nizamuddin flyover here on Thursday have been arrested. Late on Thursday night, 47-year-old Stephen Able, his wife Asha and their three children who were returning after attending a party at his sister’s place went to a taxi stand in Patparganj to hire a cab for their residence in Chattarpur village. However, a young attendant turned them away saying no driver was available. Able then allegedly slapped him and left the place.

When the drivers, Sanjay, Kishan Singh Rawat and Vikas Singh, returned, they saw the young boy crying. He narrated the incident to them. The drivers, who were allegedly drunk, went chasing another cab in which the Able and his family were travelling and intercepted it near the Nizamuddin flyover. They damaged the vehicle and then fled. The police arrested the three accused on Friday.
