Review meeting on land acquisition held

Land acquisition is going on for 65 projects.


KOCHI: The district administration has reviewed the progress of the ongoing land acquisition work for various projects, including the proposed Kochi Metro Rail; Angamali-Sabari Rail; the second phase expansion of Infopark Kochi; KINFRA Park; and the Solid Waste Treatment Plant at Brahmapuram.

A meeting in this regard was held at the district collectorate recently. Land acquisition is going on for as many as 65 projects. Chairing the meeting R. Ramadevi, Deputy collector (Land Acquisition), said that the land acquisition for projects, including Methanam Bridge and Malayattoor-Kodanattu Bridge, was progressing.

A difficult task

The district administration has an onerous task in hand, as land acquisition continues to be a major hurdle impeding the progress of many projects.
