NEW DELHI: Ankita Bhambri and Sanaa Bhambri were unable to sustain their good work in doubles and lost 4-6, 3-6 to the second-seeded I-Hsuan Hwang of Chiense Taipei and Zhang Ling of Hong Kong in the semifinals of the $50,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament at the DLTA Complex here on Thursday. The Uberoi sisters, Shikha and Neha who had opened with a victory over the top-seeded Melanie Klaffner of Austria and Laura Siegemund of Germany, found their match in Megan Moulton-Levy of the US and Emily Webley-Smith of Britain. In singles, the top-seeded Masa Zec-Peskiric of Slovenia stayed on course with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Anastasiya Vasylyeva of Ukraine. She will meet Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia in the semifinals. The results: Singles (quarterfinals): Masa Zec-Peskiric (Slo) bt Anastasiya Vasylyeva (Ukr) 7-5, 6-4; Bojana Jovanovski (Srb) bt Chiaki Okadaue (Jpn) 6-3, 6-3; Sandra Zahlavova (Cze) bt Zhang Ling (Hkg) 6-1, 4-6, 6-2; Megan Moulton-Levy (US) bt Yuliya Beygelzimer (Ukr) 6-3, 6-4.
