Saha, Shamini win titles

RAIPUR: Subhajit Saha of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) beat Saurav Chakraborty of Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) to win the men’s singles title in the Central Zone ranking table tennis championship here on Thursday. Saha won 11-9, 11-4, 5-11, 13-11, 11-9.

In the women’s final, K. Shamini (PSPB) overcame teammate Neha Agarwal 12-14, 11-7, 9-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-8, 11-7.

Ankita Das of North Bengal won a `double’. In the youth girls final, Ankita defeated beat Divya Deshpande (Maharashtra) 12-10, 9-11, 11-9, 12-10, 9-11, 11-7 and she won the junior girls title by taming Mallika Bhandarkar (Maharashtra) 13-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-8, 4-11, 11-7.

The youth boys’ title went to Aniket Koparkar (Maharashtra) who beat state-mate Aman Balgu 11-6, 9-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-7, 11-5.

Soumyajit Ghosh of North Bengal emerged the junior boys champion with a 11-7, 11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 6-11, 11-8 victory over Sourav Saha of PSPB.
