KARAIKUDI: Geetha Varma scalped four wickets as Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya defeated Solapur University by 85 runs and entered the pre-quarterfinals of the South West Zone inter-university cricket tournament for women here on Thursday. The scores (third round): Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya 151 for five in 30 overs bt Solapur 66 in 22.3 overs (Geetha Varma four for nine). Alagappa 82 for nine in 30 overs lost to Rajasthan 83 for two in 18 overs. Madras 54 in 22.2 overs (Varsha three for 12) lost to Jiwaji 55 for three in 22 overs. Calicut 142 for seven in 30 overs (Jasmine 46, Sahida four for 22) bt Sant Gadge Baba Amravathi 65 in 22.3 overs (Shani three for one). Barkatullah 56 in 26.1 overs (Suman Patel three for four) lost to LNIPE 57 for two in 11.1 overs. Andhra 101 for six in 27 overs lost to Kerala 102 for three in 19.2 overs (Ameena 30 not out).
