UP takes control

VISAKHAPATNAM: Uttar Pradesh gained an upper hand over Karnataka at the end of the second day of the quarterfinal matches in the Cooch-Behar trophy all-India tournament here on Thursday.

After UP made 327, left-arm spinner Gagandeep Singh with four wickets reduced Karnataka to 147 for six.

The scores: Uttar Pradesh 327 in 124.3 overs (Umang Sharma 75, Akash Varma 68, Ankit Tiwari 41, Abrar Kazi five for 74) vs. Karnataka 147 for six in 57 overs (K.L. Rahul 48, Gagandeep Singh four for 31).

Baroda 270 in 105.4 overs (Hitesh Solanki 65, Atchut Reddy 43 n.o.) vs. Haryana 200 for four in 74 overs (Mukhul Dagar 103 batting, Jayant Yadav 41, Swapnil K. Singh four for 50).
