The article “Remembering a glorious rebel” (Dec. 24) by V.R. Krishna Iyer is a worthy tribute to Jesus Christ — a humanist par excellence. That Jesus was a forerunner of socialism, secularism and democracy and not just the founder of a religious sect has been effectively brought out. Pragash S. Paul, Tiruchi Right from the ancient times, we have made the mistake of using priests, mullahs and acharyas as agents between god and us. We believe whatever they say in the name of god.
