Pakistan’s flip-flop

Not a day has passed since the Mumbai attacks without the Pakistan government changing its stance. Its latest demand that India dismantle the terror networks operating in its territory is interesting. We should agree to the suggestion and ask Pakistan to give us information on the terrorist cells in India — how the terrorists are inspired, trained and financed by the terrorist organisations operating from its soil.

I think India is wasting its time expecting Pakistan to act. Let us tighten our security and augment our intelligence with the latest technology so that we can thwart terror strikes in future.

S.N. Iyer,

Pakistan is resorting to war hysteria to divert the attention of its people and the international community. Instead of indulging in a disinformation campaign, Pakistan would do well to create a peaceful atmosphere for the world to live in. One wonders why it hesitates to take action against the terror networks operating from its soil when all other countries accuse it of exporting terrorism.

M. Umar,

Pakistan is whipping up war hysteria in the belief that India will back down. The Mumbai attacks have clearly shown that backing down leads to more terrorist attacks. The world has extended support to India against Pakistan. India should go ahead with its surgical strikes against Pakistan as it does not seem to abandon its support for terrorism.

C.P. Anandasubramanian,

Chennai
