Tension at Chintalapally
Correspondent
MAHABUBNAGAR: Tension prevailed in Chintalapally village in Kollapur mandal about 110 km from here on Thursday following clashes between Congress and Telugu Desam Party activists.
Five persons sustained injuries of which two belonging to Telugu Desam -- Sudhakar Naidu and Chinna Venkata Swamy -- were shifted to Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad as their condition was critical.
According to information reaching the district headquarters, the removal of names of some voters from the voters’ list led to the clash. TDP leader P. Soman Goud had reportedly filed a letter with Vasantha Rao, mandal revenue officer, Kollapur, stating that some 53 persons figuring in the list had left Chintalapally long ago and requested for removal of their names from the list.
