Corrections and clarifications

In “This Day That Age” (December 20, 2008), the first headline was “Algerian problem”, while the text related to Marshal Bulganin admitting to charges against him made at the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist Party. The Hindu of December 20, 1958, had the Bulganin report as the lead story. Below a first column cut in the main report was “The Algerian problem”. The text and heading were mixed up, which went unnoticed and uncorrected by those in charge.

In a New Zealand-West Indies Test match report “Fortune favours Tim McIntosh” (“Sport”, December 21, 2008), the age of New Zealand seamer Iain O’Brien was given as 31. He is 32.
