Music teams in villages

COIMBATORE: Isha Foundation recently launched an initiative, ‘Arogya Gramam,’ to enhance the quality of life in the villages adopted by it. To mark the inauguration of the programme, an Isha Rural Music Training programme was held in Semmedu. Over 800 villagers attended the programme.

According to a release from the foundation, the main goals of Arogya Gramam is to improve the quality of study help for students through tuitions and computer education, to introduce games as a healthy physical exercise, to increase green cover, improve soil fertility and conserve farm land. The project also aims at enhancing people’s employability at the local and multi-national industries through systematic training and introducing music and art to their lives.

Music teams were formed in Semmedu, Mutathuvaiyal, Iruttupallam and Mathuvarayapuram.
