4 railway staff suspended

Special Correspondent

SALEM: Four railway employees, including a station master, have been suspended pending further enquiry into the incident when the Ernakulam-Bangalore Weekly Express ‘skipped’ the Tirupattur station on December 15.

Highly placed sources in the Salem Railway division said the train, which has a scheduled halt at Tirupattur station, did not stop there. Eight open ticket holders, who waited at the station, complained to the station master, who made alternative arrangements for their journey. A high-level team held a detailed enquiry into the incident at Erode on Tuesday.
