Need stressed for speedy disposal of terror-related cases

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The president of the Bharatiya Rashtravadi Samanatha Party (BRSP), Shiv Khera, has favoured speedy disposal of terror-related cases and execution of punishment awarded by the courts, in order to combat terrorist activities.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Mr. Khera said that there was insecurity among the people of the country now because of the terrorist activities.

Delay

Delay in trying terror-related cases and non-execution of the verdicts of courts were one of the reasons for the increasing terrorist activities, he said. The United States did not face any terror attack after the one on the World Trade Centre in 2001 because that country had sent a tough message to the terrorist organisations, Mr. Khera.

Expressing the need for stern action against terrorists, he said that India should set up special courts to try terror-related cases.
