Burglars strike three houses in Pollachi

Coimbatore: A four-member gang struck three houses on Udumlapet Road in Pollachi on Tuesday night and decamped with jewellery and cash.

In the first incident, the gang attempted to snatch the chain of Mallika and escaped with half-a-sovereign chain after she raised an alarm. They then entered the house of Natarajan in the same area and robbed Rs. 30,000 and 35 sovereigns jewellery at knife point.

They then attacked the house of Malarvizhi and decamped with five sovereign jewellery. Pollachi police have formed special police teams.
