60 mechanics felicitated

Bangalore: Bangalore Motor Owners Consumers Cooperative Society president R. Chenna Reddy has claimed that though the economic slowdown has had a cascading effect on the automobile and allied industries, it has not hit the business of members of the society.

He was addressing a meet of owners, manufacturers and mechanics organised by the society here on Tuesday.

Felicitation of 60 mechanics and deliberations on various aspects of the automobile industry marked the event.

Representatives of major companies such as Castrol India, Bosch, Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland were present.

Chickpet MLA Hemachandra Sagar was the chief guest. Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies C.S. Puttaraju presided over the meet.
