ICF manages to down a fighting SAI
CHENNAI: ICF managed to snuff out a strong challenge from a youthful SAI in the St. Joseph’s-Chennai Football Association senior division league here on Monday. ICF won 3-2.
ICF got off the mark early when Ashok Kumar, running down Karthik’s pass from the centre, shot home a firm left-footer.
SAI equalised as Mohan’s fine shot from around 15 yards hit the inside of the roof.
Five minutes from the break, Suresh Kumar’s flagkick found Dhadeus, who tapped it to an unmarked Ashok, who made no mistake, to make it 2-1 for ICF.
Suresh Kumar made it 3-1 scoring in the 73rd minute.
And SAI reduced the margin through Vengadesan off a flag-kick from Ravichandran (76 m).
In the first division, Challengers Union and Perambur Blues drew 0-0. — Principal Correspondent
