Warning against burning of effigies

CHENNAI: Additional Director General of Police T. Rajendran has warned of severe action against those who burn effigies in public places. He said instructions had been given to police officers across the State to arrest anybody burning effigies. “We are against this practice that not only creates panic among people but also causes traffic disruption. Anybody trying to burn effigies will be arrested.” — Special Correspondent
