Karunanidhi’s poser to CPI (M)
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Monday wondered how the Communist Party of India (Marxist), which repeatedly stated that it opposed communal forces, could be part of an alliance led by AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa, who had supported the ‘kar seva’ at Ayodhya.
In a statement here on Monday, he said the communists had changed their stand of an alliance in each State and adopted a nation-wide policy when it came to entering into electoral tie-ups.
Quoting from CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechuri’s speech at the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Forum, where he stressed the need to separate history from mythology when it came to Sethusamudram project, Mr. Karunanidhi said the DMK also shared the same views on the issue.
If Ms. Jayalalithaa also shared the same views on the project, would that party have tried to impede the project at every level, he asked.
