36 persons file nomination papers

MADURAI: Thirty-six persons, including the AIADMK, the DMK, the DMDK and the AISMK candidates, have filed their nominations for the Thirumangalam by-election, scheduled to be held on January 9.

Officials here said the scrutiny of nominations would be taken up on Tuesday.

The AIADMK has fielded M. Muthuramalingam, the DMK A. Latha Athiyaman, the DMDK Dhanapandian and the AISMK Padmanabhan. — Special Correspondent
