HAL to put up show for families of its staff

About 40,000 people are likely to participate in the event

A 35-minute mini aero show by various aircraft will be put up


Bangalore: The spouses and family members of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) employees will get glimpses of a mini air display being organised on the occasion of HAL Day being celebrated on Tuesday.

The HAL, country’s public sector Defence major, has given a fresh look to its annual Foundation Day celebrations by converting it into HAL Day from this year onwards while giving a chance to families of its employees to participate in large number in the Day.

This time over about 35,000 to 40,000 employees and their family members will be participating in the event which will be held company’s city complex premises under tight security, said HAL Bangalore Complex Managing Director Ashok Nayak.

The family members will get a feast of a 35-minute mini aero show by famous Surya Kiran team, Sarang helicopter team, Light Combat Aircraft, Hawk, etc.

Giving details about the security arrangements made in the light of allowing entry to thousands of persons into the high security area, Mr. Nayak said teach employee and his identified family members have already been given bar coded security passes and none one without the bar-coded passes would be allowed.

Security

As many as 200 police personnel of various ranks from the city police force have been deployed for security arrangement apart from HAL’s own security force besides installing closed circuit cameras to keep vigil at the programme, he added.

A movie on HAL’s story, exhibition of some aircraft and their prototypes are also part of the celebrations.
