PDS rice seized

Coimbatore: The flying squad of the Civil Supplies Wing on Saturday intercepted a speeding truck near Udumalpet and seized about 13 tonnes of rice.

The consignment never had any documents and the truck was proceeding towards Kerala. The squad seized the lorry along with the rice and arrested driver and cleaner Krishnan (32) and Gopal (42) belonging to Pollachi. They were handed over to the Civil Supplies CID police and a case has been registered against them.
