Chennai: Gujarat wrapped up an innings win over Orissa in its final Ranji Trophy super league group match at Bhubaneshwar on Sunday, bowling the home side out for 149 in its second innings. Off-spinner Mohnish Parmar picked up his second six-wicket haul of the match. Mumbai blitzed to a nine-wicket win over Punjab at Mumbai, racing to its target of 149 in just over 27.1 overs, with Wasim Jaffer and Ajinkya Rahane continuing their exceptional form for the season with unbeaten half-centuries. HP progressesHimachal Pradesh will play Mumbai in the quarterfinals, after winning its plate division semifinal against Madhya Pradesh by an innings and 175 runs at Nagpur. Needing 351 to make Himachal bat again, Madhya Pradesh was bowled out for 176, with Mohinderraj Sharma and Sarandeep Singh sharing nine wickets. Bengal progressed from the other plate semifinal at Delhi, thanks to its first innings lead against Goa, which was bowled out for 230 in response to Bengal’s 337.
