NEW DELHI: As a gesture of religious harmony and reaffirmation of the fact that India stands united against the recent terrorist attack in Mumbai, a number of priests, nuns and non-Christians ushered in the Yule-tide at Sacred Heart Cathedral here over the weekend. It was the third carol singing competition that is organised annually. Eleven groups from different parishes participated from Delhi and the National Capital Region. At the competition, youth groups like “Ignite”, “Yuvodaya Band” and “Genesis” also livened up the atmosphere with their soulful rendering of the carols. Earlier during the day a similar competition was organised by the Kanhai parish at the auditorium of Sun City World School at DLF Gurgaon. Schools like Amity International, Ryan International Sector 40 Gurgaon, Sun City World School DLF and Palam Vihar, besides Believers Church and the Genesis group from Sacred Heart Cathedral participated. The judges comprised eminent musicians who apart from judging also gave pieces of advise for improvement to the participants.
