CHENNAI: Two good teams very much capable of being better, Chennai Customs and Arrows FC produced a keenly-contested 1-1 draw in a St. Josephâs College of Engineering-Chennai Football Association senior division league match at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday. After playing too quick for its own good, Customs heeded to its coach’s advice to stop and play. James’s cross on-the-run from the left couldn’t have been timed and angled better; M. Kumaran timed it perfectly jumping high to place it in to the net. Arrows equalised in the 38th minute. John Nnanna’s cross had just landed from the right and K. Bhaskar came sliding down like a man possessed to push the ball home. In a first division earlier, Charles and Selvakumar struck to give Universal a 2-0 victory over Don Bosco Youth Centre (Basin Bridge). — Principal Correspondent
