Srikkanth praises Dravid

Mohali: The chairman of the National cricket selection panel Krishnamachari Srikkanth was delighted with Rahul Dravid’s crucial hundred in the second Test.

“I have always backed Dravid to come good. It was only a matter of time. Every cricketer goes through a phase like this," said Srikkanth.

"Dravid batted with great composure and skill. His regaining form is great news for Indian cricket.

"The side needs him on the tour of New Zealand. The ball will move around there and we would require a batsman of his stature and quality at No. 3."

Dismisses reports

Srikkanth dismissed reports in some sections of the media that the selectors had given Dravid a deadline to come good in Tests — Special Correspondent.
