Arti regains skeet title

JAIPUR: Arti Singh won the women’s skeet title in style in the 52nd National shotgun championship at the Oases range here on Saturday.

Arti was in fine touch to score an impressive 68 (22, 23, 23) in the qualification round and a brilliant 24 in the final to collect 92 points for the gold.

Despite her below par showing, Saniya Sheikh — who shot 59 in the qualification — managed the silver with 77 points. Rashmee Rathore who was a point behind got the bronze.

In the men’s competition, Aroze Pal Singh (71) was leading the pack after three qualification rounds. He was followed by A.D. Peoples and M. Sheeraz Sheikh, on 70.

Skeet: Women (final): 1. Arti Singh 92 (68), 2. Saniya Sheikh 77 (59), 3. Rashmee Rathore 76 (55). — Sports Reporter
