HYDERABAD: Geeta Manohar of Andhra Pradesh moved into the women’s singles final of the Sify all-India ranking tennis championship for men and women at the Cosmopolitan Club (Bhimavaram) on Saturday. Geeta got the better of Sindhu Nilapa of Tamil Nadu 6-1, 6-4 to set up a title clash with Ashananda Kumar of Karnataka who put it across Smita Jain Rani of Indian Air Force 6-4, 6-0 in the other semifinal. The men’s singles final will be an-all Tamil Nadu affair. In the first semifinal, Vinod Sridhar defeated Yanik Nellord of Delhi 6-4, 6-4 and later Sriram Balaji warded off a spirited challenge from Arjun Goutham of Karnataka to notch up a 7-6(7-4), 6-4 win in the other semifinal.
