State to seek additional funds

CHENNAI: To construct special houses that will provide protection against flooding in Cuddalore, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Thanjavur, the State will seek additional funds from the Centre under the Indira Awas Yojana Scheme, according to a press release. This was decided during a meeting of the Rural Development Department and Local Administration Department held on Thursday, chaired by Local Administration Minister M. K. Stalin, to discuss Central schemes being implemented in the State. — Staff Reporter
