Nothing to hide in Kiliroor case, says Kodiyeri

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has nothing to hide in the Kiliroor sex scandal case and the Opposition was trying to create confusion over the case, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said.

Replying to a submission of P.C. Vishnunath (Congress) on the suppression of files relating to the case at the Chief Minister’s office, Mr.Balakrishnan clarified that the government had nothing to bury in the case and was ready to face any investigation.

Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan himself had dismissed the allegations of suppressing the files and such charges were baseless. Earlier, Speaker K.Radhakrishnan denied permission for an adjournment motion on the issue on the grounds that Mr.Achuthanandan had given a clarification on the floor of the House.

Agriculture Minister Mullakara Ratnakaran said that the government would not permit experiments of genetically modified seeds in the State. Works Minister Mons K.Joseph said that the government would hold discussions with the National Highway Authority to expedite land acquisition for developing the national highway stretch between Kazhakkuttom and Karode.
