Petitions galore at mass contact programme

VILLUPURAM: District Collector R.Palanisamy received about 500 petitions at the mass contact programme held at Pedhasamudram in Kallakurichi block on Wednesday.

The Collector said the programme was organised to reach the benefits to the people at their doorsteps. The people had sought cluster houses, roads, graveyard, compound wall for the primary school, a proper building for the noon meal centre. He said 1,938 families were identified as flood affected and they were given the relief amount to the tune of Rs 44 lakh.
