Ramanathapuram Police on Tuesday intercepted a maxi-cab vehicle laden with 20 bags of Public Distribution System (PDS) rice being illegally transported on Tiruchi Road. Head constables Marichamy and Kumaraswamy of Ukkadam police station tried to intercept the vehicle, but in vain.

Police personnel led by Sub-Inspector, Ms. Saraswathi intercepted the vehicle. Car driver Jafarullah alias Jafar of Kannappa Nagar was taken into custody.
