Natya Kala Conference begins

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The 28th Natya Kala Conference was inaugurated by K. Jayakumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Kerala, at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha on Wednesday.

The seven-day conference on the Ramayana in performing arts will witness lectures, and demonstrations and performances by well-known dancers and scholars.

Mr. Jayakumar said that as much as its central story, the far more complex characters had inspired the creative mind to explore the great work.

Though there were so many versions of the epic, each had retained its originality.
