Applications received for subsidy

CHENNAI: The State Rural Industries Department in the last two months received 244 applications seeking subsidy. An official release said of the total petitions received 119 were considered and a total of Rs 3.07 crore was distributed to 79 applicants. Another Rs 34 lakh had been kept ready to be distributed as subsidy. So far the Department had distributed Rs 66 lakh in Kancheepuram district, Rs 53.12 lakh in Vellore, Rs 38.54 lakh in Kanyakumari, Rs 38.24 lakh in Tiruvallur, Rs 37.6 lakh in Virudhunagar and Rs 22.4 lakh in Krishnagiri districts as subsidy.
The General Managers of District Industrial Centres in other districts were asked to expedite the work to distribute subsidy, the release added.
