BJP backs bill with a rider
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The BJP said it supported the National Investigation Agency Bill, but was “disappointed” that no stronger anti-terror laws were accompanying it. Party general secretary Arun Jaitley said a special law was needed to quickly prosecute terror cases. The changes being made in the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act did not include admissibility of confessions made to police. This the BJP viewed as a lacuna.
