Gold chain, cash stolen

CHENGAM : A two-sovereign chain and Rs.50, 000 in cash were stolen from the residence of a school teacher on Sivan Koil Street in Chengam on Tuesday.

According to the police, Gajalakshmi (28), working as a teacher in a private school, had left for work at 9 a.m. When she came home for lunch, she found the door open. A bureau inside was also open and the valuables were missing.
