CHAMARAJANAGAR: Members of the Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) staged a protest at the Chamarajanagar Town Municipal Council (TMC) here on Tuesday against the decision to privatise water supply as well as the installation of water meters to monitor taps. A procession was taken out from Traveller’s Bungalow to the TMC office. The protesters raised slogans against the district administration for its decisions. They said the common man would suffer if the supply of drinking water was privatised. They said the district administration would derive no benefit by installing water meters and added that their installation would only benefit contractors. They asked the TMC to withdraw steps taken to install the meters, and threatened an agitation.
