Chain snatched from student

TAMBARAM: A gold chain was snatched from a girl student when she was on her way to school in East Tambaram on Monday.

The girl, a resident of Perungalathur, is a ninth standard student at the government aided school on Bharatha Matha Street, East Tambaram.

She was riding a bicycle when she was intercepted by a youth on a motorcycle, at a desolate spot inside the Railway Colony.

He snatched the chain, weighing about one sovereign and fled the spot.

A complaint was lodged with the Selaiyur police station.
