A team of students from Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Salem, emerged victorious in a number of categories at the Salem region level boxing championship held recently. The team bagged the overall championship in the event. School Headmaster Fr. S. Arulappan and St. Mary’s HSS principal S. Motcharakini congratulated the winners.

Naveen Kumar, studying in Standard VII at Vivekananda Higher Secondary School at Paundamangalam in Namakkal district bagged the best performance award in a Junior Red Cross camp. He won the prize for his ability to make friends. Sandhiya of Standard VIII of the same school won the prize for diary writing and her classmate S. Kaviya got the prize in a test about Junior Red Cross. Students of th eschool on pries in the cultural events. Correspondent R. Subramanian; and Headmaster A.V. Palanisamy; congratulated the winners.

Collector U. Sagayam felicitated Pirithivika, a student of R.N. Oxford Matriculation School for winning gold medal in the high jump event at the sixth All India Athletics Meet held in Uttarakhand. She was one among the 60 students from Tamil Nadu. It was the only gold medal won by Tamil Nadu in the event. College Correspondent R. Nallusamy and teachers congratulated the student.

Cultural programmes marked the Christmas celebrations organised by Holy Angels Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Salem recently. Bishop of Salem Singaroyan delivered the Christmas message. Dance, dramas and singing events formed part of the celebrations.
