CHENNAI: Sriskandarajah from Tamil Nadu emerged triumphant in the high-skilled category during the grand finale of the Yamaha R15 championships at Irungattukottai Track, near here on Sunday. T.K. Vishwanath (Karnataka) and Sameer Venugopalan (Karnataka) finished second and third respectively. AP’s Nadeem won the championship in skilled category. Kerala’s Sudeesh came second, while Joel Joseph from Karnataka emerged third. In the beginners section, Dino John from Kerala, H.M. Vinodh from Karnataka and Avinash Rao (Karnataka) grabbed the first, second and third positions respectively. The winners of the championship were bestowed prizes worth Rs. 2 lakh. “The aim is to spread racing and through such championships we will take the sport, currently followed by only expert racers in India, to the biking enthusiasts and to our customers,” said Sanjay Tripathi, Division Head, Product Planning & Marketing.
