Murder bid: woman held

CHENNAI: A 40-year-old woman who allegedly pushed a nine-year-old girl into a well on Saturday was arrested on Sunday. The victim escaped with minor injuries.

Police identified the arrested as Sumathi of Jaswanth Nagar 2nd Phase, in Mogappair West. Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, s he was arrested. A case of attempt to murder has been booked and the accused was sent to prison on Sunday.
