SIRSA: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday announced that year 2009 would be celebrated at “Farmer and Labourer year” and a number of ambitious schemes would be implemented for the welfare of both sections of the society. The Chief Minister was addressing ‘Kisan Rally’ organised by Deputy Chairman of Planning Board Haryana 30 kms away from here. Hooda reminded the people that Haryana Government had already implemented a number of welfare schemes for the farmers and labourers during last 45 months which included raising the amount of concession for loss because of hailstorms, highest sugar cane price of Rs 170 per quintal, not to arrest farmers for the recovery of cooperative loans, remission of tractor registration fees and waving of agricultural loan amounting to Rs 2189 crores of 7.12 lakh farmers under scheme of Government of India. Highest wagesHighest minimum wages of Rs 3,510 per month were also being given to labourers in the State. AICC General Secretary, Treasurer and Incharge of Haryana Congress party Moti Lal Vohra gave a pat to the Chief Minister and said he is the first Chief Minister in the country who had implementing a number of ambitious schemes.The State had made rapid progress under his leadership and Haryana had become the first State in the country in a number of fields. - PTI
