Dharna to press for captive mines for VSP

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Visakhapatnam Steel Workers’ Union will organize a dharna at the Collectorate on Monday to press the demand for captive ore mines to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

Taken up by the recognized union under the Steel Progressive Front, the dharna programme would be begun with a two-wheeler rally from the Steel Plant Main gate to the Collector’s Office, according to general secretary N. Rama Rao.

Leaders of various political parties and trade unions will address the dharna at 1 p.m. The dharna is timed to bring pressure on the Government when Parliament is in session, said Mr. Rama Rao.
