Three arrested; IMFL bottles seized

ATTUR: Police arrested three persons in Talavasal on Sunday and seized 950 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor reportedly smuggled from Puducherry.
They arrested were Ranganathan (27), Prakash (37) and Sasikumar (24). Further investigation is on.
Burglary
A few unidentified persons stole valuables from a house in Kannankurichi recently. Police said Vertini, a resident of Kannankurichi, found the doors of his house broke open and DVD player and valuables worth Rs. 5,000 missing. He registered a complaint with the police.
Fatally knocked down
A man was fatally knocked down by a private bus in Tiruvagoundanur Bypass here on Saturday.
Police said the deceased was identified as Mathaian (50) of Amman Nagar, a daily wage labourer.
He was trying to cross the road when the accident took place.
He sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Salem Government Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed.
A case was registered.
