Pattara Swantons CC posts narrow win

THRISSUR: Abhishek Hedge’s century (106) went in vain as Pattara Swantons CC (Ernakulam) defeated Century CC (Ernakulam) by eight runs in the Santosh Menon Memorial all-Kerala cricket tournament, here on Saturday.

Batting first, Swantons CC made 249 for eight in 40 overs and in reply, Century CC could score only 241 for nine in 40 overs.

The scores:

Pattara Swantons CC 249 for eight in 40 overs (Nithin 78 n.o.) bt Century CC 241 for nine in 40 overs (Abhishek Hedge 106, K.R. Sreejith four for 55).

South struggling

South Zone, needing 106 to win, was 64 for six at stumps on day two of its three-day match against North Zone in Thalassery on Saturday.

P.K. Mohammed Famiz took five for 13 for North in the second innings.
