Baroda well placed
KOLKATA: Baroda looked set to snatch the first innings lead against Punjab in the semifinals of the Col. C.K Nayudu Trophy (under-22) cricket tournament here on Saturday.
After Punjab was dismissed for 249, Baroda ended the day at 197 for three.
In the other game, Mumbai reduced host Bengal to 105 for three in reply to its first innings score of 353. Abhishek Raut scored 93 for Mumbai while Mohammed Ashrafuddin ended with five for 92.
The scores:
Mumbai 353 in 138 overs (A. Raut 93, I. Abdullah 39 Aditya Tare 38, Md. Ashrafuddin five for 92) vs. Bengal 105 for three in 40 overs (Sufian Khan 35).
Punjab 249 in 101.4 overs (Anupam Gupta three for 24) vs. Baroda 197 for three in 74 overs (Mohamud Baloch 92 batting, Ketan Panchal 62 batting). — Special Correspondent
