Fredrick, Priya emerge fastest athletes

Coimbatore: Chennai’s John Fredrick and Coimbatore’s P. Priya emerged the fastest athletes of the State-level inter-school athletic meet, organised by the Coimbatore wing of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, at the Nehru Stadium here on Friday.

Indian Navy golf

The Indian Navy golf championship will be held at the Coimbatore Golf Club course from December 15 to 19. About 30 senior officers from all the three Naval commands and Naval headquarters (Delhi) will participate.

Yankees SC wins

At Udhagamandalam, Yankees Football Club fashioned a 2-0 win over Sporting Union Football Club in the NDFA-Riverside Public School third division league at the HADP Stadium on Saturday.

Sand Rock Sports Club defeated Riders Sports Club by a similar margin.

Other results: Ilayabharatham SC 2 drew with Vigneswara SC 2, Rallis RC 1 bt Shooters SC 0, Sporting Warriors SC 1 bt Sporting Union 0.

Inter-varsity football

At Salem, Periyar University will host the South-West Zone and all-India inter-varsity football championship for women, under the auspices of the Association of Indian Universities, at the University grounds from December 19 to 29.
