Ransher Singh strikes winner

NEW DELHI: Two goals by Ransher Singh including the match-winner in the sudden death chukker, helped Himalayan Horse to a 6-5 victory over Equisport in the semifinals of the Baroda Cup polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground, here on Saturday.

Gaurav Sahgal and Abhimanyu Pathak also scored two goals each for the winner.

Manupal Godara (three) and Simran Shergill (two) scored for Equisport.

In the other semifinal, Cavalry/ Army Service Corps (ASC) scored a 5-1/2-4 victory over Cavalry/ Carnoustie.

Samir Suhag (three) and G.S. Pandher (two) scored for the winner, which started with a 1/2-goal handicap advantage.

Ravi Rathore (three) and Akhil Sirohi were successful in finding the target for the loser.
